Regarding Our Worship
Worship at Green Hills Community Church is distinctively Christ-centered and evangelical. We seek to lift up Christ, and His glorious gospel, in all that we do.
Our worship music is a creative blend of traditional hymns and today’s Christian music. Our goal is to exalt our Lord, as we unite in a multigenerational celebration of who Christ is and what He’s done for us. We try to be warm and engaging in our proclamation of the truths we cherish, and to stay mindful that worship is about pleasing God – not us.
We make much of God’s Word, the Bible. We design our services in such a way that the Scriptures permeate our shared experience of worship. When it’s time for preaching, we emphasize the text of Scripture and what it was originally intended to mean. Our personal application of the text flows from there.
Each Sunday morning, we observe the Lord’s Supper, an important reminder that we are part of God’s family – His covenant community. As we remember Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for us – in Communion – we also proclaim that He is coming again! At GHCC, all who are trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord are welcome at His table. Regarding children, we respect the decision of parents regarding who in their family should participate.
Every Sunday morning, competent and loving nursery care is available for babies and infants. During the worship service, shortly before the sermon, children – elementary age and younger – who want to participate in our “GHCC Kids” are invited to leave the service to enjoy a “Children’s Church” designed especially for them. Parents pick up their children after worship.
Higher than any other aim is our desire to worship God in the way that He desires to be worshiped: “in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). To pursue such worship with passion is our honor and joy.
